Lucas Torreira’s agent Pablo Bentancur has insisted his client is happy at Sampdoria despite the many circulating transfer reports concerning his client.
“The idea is to continue with Sampdoria until the end of the season. It would be a shame to break up a team playing beautiful football.
“We only signed a new contract for five years a few months ago, inserting a €25 million release clause. The most important thing now, however, is not this, he must remain calm and give his all on the field. His rapport with Sampdoria is great” he told Calciomercato.it.
Torreira’s performances for Marco Giampaolo’s side have impressed many with Inter among a number of interested clubs. The performances have however not come as a surprise to Bentancur.
“I am glad, he is demonstrating he has great technique, but I knew he had it already. He is growing in confidence and Gaston Ramirez’s arrival helped him.”
If we can spend the 25 m and the player wants to come,then he could just come ,already in January.
It comes down to his decision.
That would probably make Ferrero very unhappy and we do a lot of business with him.
Will have to keep him happy somehow, give him a little someone or something extra ,a loan or some..
I don’t know ,it would seem wiser if we do it as a summer transfere and keep everyone happy.
But I would LOVE to have him right now.
He would help us immensely.
The release clause might become valid only in June. It might not be valid during winter transfer window. Just a guess.
He has always been incredibly honest and direct to Samp fans:
” I love it here, I will always give my 110% , but if the big offer comes I will have to do the best for my career and take that chance “.
I have a feeling that the player himself would be willing to leave already in January, taking that release clause option right away.
The agent instead wants to wisely keep everyone happy, Samp included, and is convincing him that remaining at Samp till the end of the season is the wisest move.
Pls, start negotiating for him and make a deal with him and Samp ASAP… if it’s for winter or summer market i am fine with it.
25 mil for this guy is a steal.
