Reports suggest that in the coming days Inter striker Eder could be subject to a number of transfer bids.
Turin based newspaper Tuttosport report that offers for the naturalised Italian could arrive from clubs participating in France, Germany, Turkey and possibly Italy.
Tuttosport did not name the clubs allegedly set to make assaults for the 31-year-old and it is unclear as to why so many offers are to arrive especially due to the fact Eder only just penned a new contract renewal at the tail end of last year which tied him down to the club through to 2021.
Eder, who arrived at the Nerazzurri in January 2016 from fellow Serie A club Sampdoria, has made a total of 17 appearances in all competitions this season, all of which have come from the substitutes bench. He has netted a solitary goal, which he scored in the 1-1 draw with Torino just three days after penning the aforementioned new contract back in November.
if you bench messi … and he will be no good.
Let’s keep it real here…
Eder was VERY good in Sampdoria , I don’t know why .. maybe he does not do well as a bencher ,mentally he likes to start games regularly or he is just at the end of his career and his best performance level is behind him ..fact is :
He was never really good with us, never a factor of any kind really ,sorry but he could leave for pretty much any offer ,considering the multi million contract we would get rid of.
Time for China ?
Eder is still good. He can’t score many goals with 15 minutes per game coming off the bench. Even Icardi will probably score 3-5 goals max with such little playing time.
Eder has never been very good. While he was leading the scoring charts the year we got him his shot conversion rate has always been mediocre at best usually below 20% and he has never ever scored more than 12 goals in a season.
While he puts a lot of effort he is a classic mid-table forward and not someone a team with CL ambitions should have coming off as first change from the bench.
We need an impact player off the bench and think Sturridge fits that bill perfectly if his injury problems are behind him.
So if we can sell him we should sell him. I would even prefer Gabigol as a backup option off the bench as really I am sure he is good enough to score a solitary goal every 15 games in line with Eder’s output and giving him minutes will only help in getting better value from a sale.
And we extended his contract….
I think Ausilio has a soft spot for Italian never beens…first Ranocchia and now Eder…
I think he is just very incompetent
We should fire Ausilio
I couldn’t agree more. Its either him or fire most of our scouting team.
Someone has to be blamed for the atrocious transfer strategy over the past few years. We have had a net spend of 140mn over the past 3 seasons with very little to show for it other than Skriniar but hey I am sure if I was given the same budget I would find a gem or two as well. You eventually hit something even if you are shooting blind…
I think Ausilio has been good with structuring deals to navigate around the FFP restrictions but his call on players have been off massively and if we can coaches for bad results we need to have no qualms about replacing DS with questionable records…. Ausilio out!!!
What…I’d much rather keep Eder than having Sturridge (whose last good season was 5 years ago, injury-prone and expensive) and Gabigol (no Inter coach started him and struggling at Benfica as well).
Even though Sturridge has been struggling with injuries last few seasons he has a much better goals per minutes played output than Eder since he joined Inter.
Plus Eder does not fit into Spalletti’s possession tactics as he only really scores when he has space to run into mostly on counters. Sturridge is just better at creating space for himself and a more intelligent player. Don’t get me wrong I am saying that Sturridge wouldsolve all problems as he is out of form and there are question marks over his fitness. However, I firmly believe Eder is not the answer and we need someone who can bring more of an impact off the bench. If Sturridge can stay healthy he is definitely an upgrade on Eder although of course there are better options out there but with no money in the coffers he may be the only realistic option on the table at the moment.
Gabigol is an enigma and why no coach in Europe sticks with him is a bit baffling really. He was actually pretty decent in preseason and a number of people on this forum actually were rooting for him to take over from Candreva. Plus his reputation in Brazil isn’t down to just one good year. This is a guy who rewrote Santos’ record books i.e. had a better goals per game ratio than Neymar at both youth and senior level.
I think his problems are really tied to his price tag, salary and of course poor management by Inter. If you spend 30mn on a player you darn well better make sure your coach plays him. Towards the end of Piolis spell when our season was practically written off and Icardi was injured he should’ve been the first name on the starting line-up if not from a tactical perspective than just as a good precursor to putting him in the shopping window. Instead we went with Eder and fat good that is doing us in the long run.
Well, Gabigol is not starting at Benfica either is my point. Eder isn’t a solution to anything, per se. He’s a sub currently for Icardi when Icardi is suspended or needs rest. With FFP and all that, selling Eder for 7M and dishing out 25M for Sturridge doesn’t give us that much boost imo; in that case, I’d rather we just keep Eder and hope for CL qual next season.
I don’t think hoping for CL will work as things clearly are not working at the moment and we are in dire need of another goal threat. Eder doesn’t offer much in that area off the bench so we need other options. Sturridge when fit is a far superior player and one can simply compare his goal scoring record to Eder to see why. I don’t think Sturridge would cost us anything and will probably only come with an option not obligation to buy, so if he performs we can make a decision to buy him otherwise no harm done.
Plus selling Eder could help raise something in the context of 8-10mn which could be really useful in pushing through a transfer for one of our other targets.
Sturridge’s market value on transfermarkt is 20M. If we can get him at 10M, sure. I don’t think that’s likely.
Otherwise, this investment isn’t worth doing at the moment; our recent results are bad, but we should still have a decent enough squad to make the top 4; we just have to be ahead of one of the Roman clubs (Roma and Lazio).
If we are lucky enough to receive any cash offers, we should snap their hands off, and use the cash to sign a winger or a number 10…. I’ve nothing against the guy, but he’s just not good enough- I’d have rather given the game time to Gabigol, who has never really been given a chance to shine…
While we’re at it, we should list J. Mario, Brozo, and Nagatomo, and accept any offers that arrive!
man like gabigol has got to be sold. Re invest it in Fekir and Torreira
nobody will offer even 5mln for gabi1gol and he will never get 3mln salary, even such an offer arrive he will refuse so he can get his money and doing nothing. so i just hope stupid auselio didnt offer him to renew his contract for 5 more years.
Very hardworking and professional but we have so many avarage players that beed to go
No vision and no result lol
Sell and loan sturridge
