Inter’s Argentinian captain and striker, Mauro Icardi, will almost certainly miss the Serie A clash this Saturday at 20.45 CET at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district when the Nerazzurri host Crotone.
A statement released on Inter’s official website revealed the medical results of the injury Icardi has sustained during training and it is not positive. The statement read that: “Mauro Icardi underwent medical tests this afternoon at the Istituto Humanitas in Rozzano. They revealed a strain to the adductor muscles in his right thigh. The Nerazzurri’s forward’s condition will continue to be evaluated in the coming days.”
It is looking very unlikely now, if not impossible that Icardi will feature against Crotone on Saturday night and it also puts the following weekends match up at home against Bologna under question as well. The Nerazzurri have been struggling to score goals in recent weeks and losing their top marksman will hardly make scoring goals any easier.
maybe with eder we can try different method of scoring goals. we are kinda hopeful and predictable with all that crosses. maybe this is a good thing or not.

can somebody explain me, why is there so much hate towards icardi, when he is one of 4 players that actually performs and his goals are keeping us within CL spot? He even performed previous seasons ago too, when whole team was shit just like this season.
Its not his fault that midfield and wings dont work properly and cant connect with him. He scored 18 goals from 41 shots which means that he converts every second chance to goal. Too bad, our team dont click with him. Maybe playing with 2 strikers would help, to prevent only icardi be present in penalty area as only point of reference when we cross constantly for 90 minutes and there are always 2 CBs on icardi…
Dont even try to understand. He scores 50% of our goals while the rest of the team is on vacation and he is the only constant performer along with skriniar…

It is because he has a character that is controversial. If he would be like for example Valero, Zanetti, Cruz he would come out with minimum complaints. I believe it is as simple as that, since he is the best player we have and always tries to be useful. It is not like he does not care and only walk around. But if you work for 80 minutes against two physical CBs without receiving rarely one decent ball, then it is not too surprising that you get tired and frustrated after a while. How many through balls from central midfield to Icardi have you seen successful through the season, even when we played well? The crosses were there during the good periods, but now they are bad as well…
in my opinion zlatan hasnt the best character either, yet all the fans dont say shit about him because they were happy that we were winning. now when we just D/L all the time, people very kindly look for some culprit and they find him in our captain. when we were winning 2 months ago everyone praised him and wished to pen a new contract asap, now fans want him out of a club. ok i understand he really fucked thing up with his autobiography, but he said sorry at least 10 times, wants to win with this shirt, does what he can to secure ucl spot and i really dont get fans hate towards him when after match or during match too you use that he at least gives a fuck in a comparison to awesome players like perisic, candreva, valero, gagliardini, handanovic, miranda, dambrosio and so on. yet people will still hate him because he HAS BAD CHARACTER.

I agree, a lot of it has to do with his character and some dumb shit he did in the past. He also like fancy things and kinda show off on social networks which can depict him as arrogant.
But imo, some of the hate may also be due to his characteristics on the field. Although he improved, he is primarily a pure poacher, therefore when he doesn’t get decent balls in the box, he can disappear from the game. When we’re in form and he’s automatically scoring cuz balls are coming in, everybody is happy. But when we play like shit, even if he scores a goal here and there during one of our unique nice build up play of a boring game, he becomes the bad guy again lol.
The fact is, he is one of the most lethal striker in Europe right now, his ratio goal/shoot is proof. Give a team with top mid and wingers, he’ll score 30 goals per season easily. Thats what funny when I witness the Icardi bashing, even from our curva.
I dont care about his personal life and his character off the field anyway, but on the field he is far from being the problem, even during these hard times I see him trying more than some of the divas we’ve got and other brain freeze masters.

Trust me, Icardi is the least of our concerns. In the offence department alone, we need to sell grandpa perisic, Grandpa candreva and that brainless runner eder first before we even discuss icardi.

What is quiet funny or sad is, that although teams like tottenham, manu, as roma have one pure tank ST in their squads, they dont one dimensionally play on crosses because they know there is strong striker in the middle, but they switch their attacks and never do same attack again and again. We have 1,80 cm tall icardi and we keep crossing like every header to the penalty area would be certain goal.
Another big problem is the lack of goalscoring instinct from the rest of the squad. Despite all those crosses from Candreva, the only guy in the box is Icardi surrounded by 3 defenders, we never see our mid run in the box to help him… Thats why they never score cuz on top of that they all have terrible shooting except lazy Brozo
Yeah, remember in the beginning how devastating the runs from Vecino was? Not really sure why he almost entirely stopped those runs. Perhaps it was down to his position switching back and forth between DM and CM?
One of the few times he made it recently he again scored against Roma… But why dont we see them make runs more often ? I dont know, maybe they like watching Icardi try to win the ball between 4 opponents

We have solid CBs we can rely on. Valero can relieve pressure as a DM, although he’s not totally reliable. We have wingers who are fit enough to help out on defence.

In the current 4-2-3-1, Icardi is completely isolated since our game is just crossing (terrible crosses). Our opponents are very well-aware of this by now and double up on Icardi in the box, hence the terrible drought we have been in.

Candreva tend to become great after returning from a match or two from the bench. It would be interesting to see Rafinha starting on the right just to wake him up. Then next game make Rafinha start in Perisic’s position. We need someone to put them under pressure. As of now it is Eder who does not really perform either, or a too young Karamoh.
