Valencia intend to activate their redemption option for loanee Geoffrey Kondogbia before selling him on according to the latest reports.
Since completing a loan switch to the Mestalla in the summer, the Frenchman has put in a number of notable performances and attracted interest from a number of big clubs including Paris Saint Germain.
The Spanish club will pay the €25 million fee to Inter to turn the 25-year-old’s stay permanent but to help aid their own financial fair play issues they will then look to sell him on for a fee in excess of €40 million.
Kondogbia joined Inter for €40 million back in 2015 from Monaco but failed to replicate the form that saw Inter buy him in the first place. The midfielder has today given an interview where he has admitted his time with Inter was chaos and he would pay his own release fee in order to allow him to stay with Valencia.

I get that. He was loaned just so that they could make few euros on him unlike Guedes who Valencia will definitely not sell on. And why won’t they sell Guedes? Because he is class and it’s really hard to replace him unlike Kondogbia.

actual we will essentially get him for free if Valencia decided to sell him for 40mil+. I believe we have 25% future sale in the deal. so if he is sold for 40 mil we get 10 mil which total our income from this deal with 35 mil.

He will not be sold for 70m. Valencia will redeem him if they find a buyer that pays them about 40m so that they get a profit. The buyer – if not really stupid – will know Valencia is in a hurry to sell him before July 1st for FFP reasons. Because of FFP Valencia cannot bluff and say they will keep him.
If somebody is dumb enough to pay more than 30m will regret the purchase big time later on. Kondogbia is all about physicality. Todays true top teams really don’t have as technically limited midfielders as Kondogbia. He is mistake prone and doesn’t really offer anything going forward. And for being that limited he doesn’t intercept nearly as much as he should.
Guys like Kante and Matuidi are a lot better players. Would be weird if there was as dumb sporting director as Ausilio who pays 70m for this guy.

Maybe. Maybe I’m just a hater, but I predict that if he gets that 70m move to PSG he will end up like Krychowiak. I’ve watched a few of his match compilations on tube, but have to check out some Vanencia matches. But I don’t trust this Valencia hype, even Farinos seemed like a great player there
