Italian media outlet Libero interviewed Milan Skriniar ahead of the derby della Madonnina in which the Slovakian international defender varied from different themes, from his impact since joining the Nerazzurri, to the future, through the Champions League and his favorite position on the field.
Skriniar began by talking about how much he cost Inter stating that “I remember well when people asked why I had cost €25-30 million, I think I have proven to be worth the money.”
Tell the truth: did you plan to get to Inter and take the starting position right away?
“Actually no, I was a little surprised myself, I went beyond my expectations, but slowly playing them all I raised the bar.”
Who wanted you at Inter?
“As soon as the director Ausilio and Mr. Spalletti came around, I immediately said “Inter? I’m coming!” For me, playing here is wonderful.”
Some say, ‘there is a good chance a big club will sign you in the summer.’ Do you feel you can promise ‘I will stay here’?
“The answer is simple: I think about playing my best, it’s my job, other things do not interest me”.
But can reaching the Champions League qualification make a difference?
“It may be, but next year Inter will be in the Champions League, I am convinced, and so the problem does not arise”.
There are those who say that your dressing room is not so united.
“Lies, we’re joking around.”
In international games you also play in the midfield. Would you like to move in that role in the future?
“I actually was a midfielder, it was my coach at Zilina, Adrian Gul’a, who moved me to defense, I like to play there, but I’m a defender”.
Your attitude towards long balls, is it because of Giampaolo?
“It has always been a feature of mine since I started playing as a central defender.”
Do you prefer to play left or right?
“In the Samp I played left, now more to the right. Initially I thought it could be a problem, but in reality almost nothing has changed.”
don’t touch Skriniar, he is our qualtiy CB after treble winners squad at 2010..
partner with De Vrij is great..
sell Icardi to balance FFP and with Icardi money Inter can rebuild winning team..
We can buy Martial, or Chiesa on winger position..
we have Lautaro as Center Forward, subs Icardi position..
all answers are short, sharp and on target, well done skriniar, u r a true champ, great professional and inspirator for the team
How about Inter signing Johnny Evans as backup for next season. Available for GBP 3m when WBA are relegated. 30yo. CL winner?
He’s not jaap stam. Next, thanks.
Indeed he is not. A 30 year old Stam would cost EUR 60m + in todays market, not 3m. You have noticed that Inter are looking at free players or cheap players, right, due to their finances? Evans is better than Lissandro or Ranno. I guess that is why Manchester city and Arsenal tried to sign him in January.
LOL – are you joking? Okay if we follow your line of thinking why not go all in for Chellini?
Are you saying Pep and Arsene cannot spot a bargain? They are in the Europe. Meanwhile Inter go for Lisandro Lopez. Why not go for Chellini if he would join? he is at least mentally strong.
No.
No
No, we know what vidic was done here.
What has Vidic got to do with it other than playing for Man U. So did Evra and he won the league with Juve. Vidic was victimized by referees in the few games he played and was injured the rest. Some of you guys are believing the media and will be on here complaining when the media lies do not come to pass, there will be no Pastore, Di Maria etc. in the summer, all there will be will be is free transfers and players on the decline, because there will be no CL, thanks to Rano an co.
Same shit different players.
