It will not be easy for Inter to turn Joao Cancelo’s temporary stay in Milano in to a permanent one according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter must pay the Portuguese’ redemption fee of €35 million to Valencia by the 30th of May, something that will be extremely difficult due to Inter’s delicate financial fair play situation and owners Suning’s strategy of a completely self financed market.

Valencia redeeming Geoffrey Kondogbia will represent a slight capital gain for Inter and will help financial fair play slightly but not enough wherein the Nerazzurri can just go out and completely splash the cash on Cancelo, who has improved tenfold in recent months after a ropey start at the club.

If Inter are really desperate to land the 23-year-old on a permanent basis they may – and likely will – be forced in to sacrificing some players to raise the funds required, just like they had to last year with a number of good young players let go on the cheap.
