This time last week Arturo Vidal looked all but set to complete a move to Inter before Barcelona swooped in and sensationally snatched him from under the noses of the Nerazzurri.

The Chilean midfielder has signed a three year deal with the Blaugrana following the move from Bayern Munich and will earn €4.5 million per season. Milan based publication Gazzetta dello Sport reveal that this is the exact same offer that Inter proposed and saw accepted by the player prior to the move collapsing, a real far cry from reports suggesting the 31-year-old was to be given a salary in the region of €8-9 million at the San Siro.

Inter did not let losing out on Vidal get them down though and have shown a strong desire to sign Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric. The Croatian, as per reports, will be handed a four year contract by the Nerazzurri if a deal can be struck between the two clubs.
