Inter’s Vice-President Javier Zanetti was interviewed by RMC Sport after having received the Nereo Rocco award for everything he accomplished during his career.
The former Nerazzurri captain was asked if this years squad has what it takes to win the Serie A and remove Juventus from the top spot to which he replied: “We are Inter and we have to behave as Inter just as our history says. Having won against Bologna allows us to work calmly, however one bad result can’t condition an entire project that we have had in our minds for the long term and one that has just begun.
“We have to improve on our league position from last season, now we want to fight in the league after having returned to the Champions League. I have a lot of faith in what these players can do” Zanetti continued.
In conclusion Zanetti was asked to give his thoughts on Antonio Candreva who scored this past weekend thus ending a 504 day goal drought saying that: “I am happy for Antonio because he managed to score after some difficulties and returned to feeling like the important player he is. I hope he still can have a great future.”
