In yesterday’s clash in Elche, Croatia were torn apart by Spain conceding six goals. It all started after the substitution of Sime Vrsaljko but up to that point, in fact, the Croatians had been exerting their influence, and even going close to the goal.
The Inter fullback had been among the protagonists, excellent in defence and revealing a very dangerous weapon with his runs forward. Then came the knee injury, which luckily seems not so serious.
“At the end of the game he came out walking perfectly fine, confirming that the injury does not seem to be anything serious,” the Gazzetta dello Sport reports today.
Vrsaljko has been suffering with a small injury to his knee since the World Cup campaign in Russia with Croatia but with fixtures coming thick and fast from this weekend, including the start of the Champions League campaign, Inter will need their summer signing to be back to full fitness as soon as possible
