Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport have likened current Inter manager Luciano Spalletti to former Inter manager Jose Mourinho.

“At this moment, Luciano Spalletti has Nerazzurri blood flowing through his veins. The fans love him for his tactical choices but also the way in which he stands up to defend his team against attacks from the media. He also stands up – and does not hold back – when it comes to speaking out against wrongs.

“Lucio is playing a similar role to that of Mourinho when he first arrived at Pinetina in 2008. However, unlike Mourinho, who arrived off the back of years of success under Roberto Mancini, Spalletti was instead tasked with restructuring a team who had not seen the Champions League for six years. He achieved a fourth place finish in his first season in charge of the club and now must look to secure the first trophy of Suning’s Inter.”
