Inter and China Unicom, as anticipated in the past few days, have announced that they have reached a partnership agreement. This means that yet another Asian company officially becomes a partner of the Nerazzurri in China.
The statement on Weibo reads: “The two sides will rely on communication resources in terms of football culture, opening up a new model linking sport and Internet to meet the new high-quality communication needs between clubs and their supporters, by cooperating together to launch an exclusive Inter branded SIM card and promoting the construction of a new sporting culture in communication through working together and cooperation.”
China Unicom has about 26 million subscribers and, according to Forbes, has generated a profit of over $1.2 billion over the last quarter.
China Unicom is a strong telecommunications company that can prove to be useful for growing the Inter brand and further getting the Inter name across the globe and particularly the Asian market.
