In Ghana they are still discussing Kwadwo Asamoah’s decision not to respond to the call-up of his country’s national team, due to a knee injury which was picked up while playing for Inter.
It has been discussed so much to the extent that the local media have begun suggesting there is a feud within the group between Inter and the Ayew brothers – however this opinion has been promptly rejected by Maxwell Konadu, the assistant of the Black Stars Kwesi Appiah coach.
“It is not true that Kwadwo Asamoah has faked his injury,” he told Otec FM, “and he has not skipped the game against Ethiopia because of the Ayew brothers returning to the team.”
Asamoah joined Inter over the summer on a free transfer after leaving Juventus and has become an integral part of Spalletti’s starting 11. It is not yet known whether he will be fit to face Frosinone in Serie A after the international break.
