Javier Zanetti has spoken on Inter’s growth this season among other topics in an interview with Canale 5.

“Compared to last year the team has grown a lot. We had to give continuity after qualifying for the Champions League and we are doing just that. We did not collect so many points at the start but ten we found continuity and now we have to keep growing and staying as high in the table as possible,” he insisted.

Zanetti then spoke on Giuseppe Marotta who is expected to be appointed in the coming days.

“We are talking about a highly competent executive. For sure when he arrives he will integrate himself with another group that has been doing a lot for the growth of this club for two years. There are the prerequisites for doing well, it depends on us.”

Zanetti was then asked if club captain Mauro Icardi’s decisiveness comes as a surprise to him.

“No it does not. I was expecting Mauro to be like that, he always wants us to score, he demonstrates it in every game, this is important for us.”
