Matteo Politano talked a little bit about his past and his personal life as part of the Inter – PSV match program the club released ahead of tonight’s Champions League clash at the San Siro.

“The first match I saw at the stadium was Roma-Inter, which ended in a spectacular 3-3. Javier Zanetti was one of those players that I have always admired, just like Francesco Totti, who was an idol for us Romans.”

“I remember the first audition I had with Roma, Bruno Conti played me as a full-back, then in the second audition, I was played in a more offensive role, and from that moment onward I did not leave that role. I was lucky enough to leave home when I turned 18, in Perugia, where I grew up with my parents, friends, and girlfriend who then became my wife.”

Politano then discussed some of the hobbies he likes to enjoy during his free time:

“Fishing is very relaxing. I also play tennis and watch it a lot. My favorite tennis player is Nadal, although I must admit, I think Roger Federer is extraordinary and really embodies everything I love about tennis.”
