An agreement over a new contract could be reached in the next meeting between Inter and Mauro Icardi’s wife/agent Wanda Icardi according to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb.
As per the report, the next meeting will take place on Tuesday and as confirmed by Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta before yesterday’s 0-0 draw at home to Sassuolo, the involved parties have a shared desire to find an agreement in order to prolong Icardi’s stay at the Nerazzurri past 2021.
Talks have been ongoing for a number of months and there have been many public moments of tension in recent weeks but the tension now appears to be in the past now and all the energy seems focused upon reaching an agreement.
Icardi, who has been with Inter since joining from Sampdoria back in 2013, has made 24 appearances across all competitions, scoring 14 goals and tallying three assists in just shy of 2000 minutes of action this term.
