Stefan de Vrij has insisted that it is important for Inter to win tonight’s match with Cagliari, which is due to kick off not long from now with things hotting up in the race for Champions League qualification.

“This match is a very important one for us and for the league table after what happened last week,” he remarked in an interview with Inter TV in the lead up to the match at the Sardegna Arena.

“The teams behind us are getting closer, so it will be important for us to win.

The Dutchman, who is in the midst of his first season at the club, concluded by revealing he is under know illusion that he and his teammates will be in for an easy game.

“We know that this is a difficult place to play. They are a good team, especially at home. It will be a great challenge for sure.”
