Antonio Candreva will make only his second league start since October on Sunday when Inter take on relegation-threatened SPAL at San Siro, according to Corriere dello Sported.
Candreva started Inter’s 1-0 defeat at home to Bologna on 3 February but had not been named in the starting XI before then since September, playing 70 minutes in a win over Cagliari.
The Italian will replace Ivan Perisic on the left wing with Luciano Spalletti juggling multiple injuries and suspension risks ahead of next weekend’s derby against Milan.
Mauro Icardi and Radja Nainggolan are also unavailable on Sunday with Keita Balde and Danilo D’Ambrosio only fit for a place on the bench.
Matias Vecino is suspended while Milan Skriniar could be rested to avoid being ruled out of the derby.
Cedric and Miranda are expected to start in defence while Roberto Gagliardini and Joao Mario come in to form a three-man midfield with Marcelo Brozovic.
Inter’s probable starting XI: Handanovic; Cedric, De Vrij, Miranda, Asamoah; Gagliardini, Brozovic, Joao Mario; Politano, Martinez, Candreva.
