Inter and the representatives of Mauro Icardi will soon reignite contract extension talks that have taken a backseat in recent weeks but they will not rush into them according to a report from Sport Mediaset.
The parties had been in contact over a new and improved deal for sometime but talks were pushed aside last month as tensions between the parties were raised considerably which saw the Argentine lose the captain’s armband.
The 26-year-old is currently under contract with Inter through to the end of the 2020/21 season and reports in recent months have suggested that he could sign on for a further few years.
Sport Mediaset also go on to report that Icardi could make a return to first team action after over a month out in Inter’s next game with Lazio.
With Lautaro Martinez, who has more than adequately filled in in his absence, away on international duty, it cannot be excluded that Icardi will be given the nod to start.
