In an interview with Lazio Style Channel, former Inter defender Riccardo Ferri has previewed this weekend’s game against Lazio.

“Sunday’s game is important for both teams in view of qualifying for the Champions League,” he began.

“The two teams are well physically and mentally  and it will be a good challenge. Even a draw would leave the chance of reaching the Champions League intact for both clubs but I don’t think the two teams will go on the field to achieve this.”

He then spoke on the possibility of Mauro Icardi playing.

“I don’t know if Mauro Icardi will play, this will be decided by Luciano Spalletti, but I think that the Argentine will not start the match. Starting him would be a risk for him from a physical point of view.”

Ferri then spoke on Inter’s defence and the need for the two teams to pay attention.

“The Nerazzurri’s defensive line is very strong, even with the lack of Stefan de Vrij there are many solutions like Joao Miranda and Andrea Ranocchia. There will be some interesting individual clashes in the middle of the field, even if the attitude will count for a lot of the two teams, it will be necessary to have a lot of attention at every stage of the game.

“The small details will certainly make the difference, the attention to detail will be fundamental. Inter has a lot of quality as well as Lazio.”
