Radja Nainggolan will have a point to prove for Inter when he starts against his former club Roma on Saturday, as discussed in Tuttosport today.

Nainggolan’s first season with the Nerazzurri has been blighted by injury woes and disciplinary mishaps, meaning he has only started one match against top six opposition this season, against Milan on 21 October.

The Belgian appears to have finally shaken off his physical gremlins as the final month of the season approaches, though, and will be raring to go against the Giallorossi this weekend.

“Inter vs Roma is ‘his’ match, especially after having missed the reverse fixture in December through injury,” Tuttosport said.

“Having been signed on Luciano Spalletti’s request and presented as Inter’s biggest summer signing, Ninja has not been able to show what he can really do in an Inter shirt.

“Nainggolan’s season has been a never-ending obstacle course of injuries, given that every time he seemed fully fit he has suffered a new problem.

“Having returned to first-team training at the end of March, though, he is finally ready to give a proper contribution to Inter’s cause – starting with the match against Roma, which Inter hope will be the first ‘big match’ he plays from the beginning to the end.”
