Inter striker Mauro Icardi’s wife, and agent, Wanda Icardi has come to his defence after he missed a penalty in Inter’s win over Empoli last night.
The Argentine won Inter a penalty on the hour mark with Inter leading 1-0 but he failed to double the Nerazzurri’s lead. Thankfully, Inter managed to score another through Radja Nainggolan to secure a 2-1 victory.
“It went very well, we achieved what we wanted. It starts again next season. Mauro’s mistake can happen, these are things that happen to those who have the balls,” she began as she appeared in her usual punditry slot on Canale 5 show Tiki Taka.
“The stadium reacted badly, I said a bad word myself: it is natural that you ca not say ‘good’ to those who miss penalties.
“Even Messi and Ronaldo have missed them, it can happen to anyone. After the whole affair, he went on to score two very important penalties.”
She concluded by speaking on the difficulties of supporting Inter: “Being an Inter fan makes you realise that you have a good heart. I’ve lost five years!”
