Mauro Icardi is determined to stay with Inter and wishes to meet with incoming manager Antonio Conte to stress his belief that he can still play a part in the Inter project according to a report from Marca.
The Argentine striker is largely expected to be moved on by the Nerazzurri this Summer following a series of off-field issues throughout the season which have severely soured relations between the player and the club.
This report would however suggest that Icardi has other ideas about this.
The report from the Spanish newspaper goes on to state that Icardi has never lost hope of getting the captain’s armband back and could try to take advantage of the current situation to try and regain the armband, which he lost back in February.
Icardi was stripped of the captaincy due to off-field issues and the stripping of the captaincy brought around another issue wherein the 26-year-old refused to play for two months, claiming he was injured even though Inter’s medical staff prove with testing that there was nothing wrong.
