Inter could be in line to receive €15 million from Flamengo as the Brazilian club consider signing Gabriel Barbosa on a permanent deal, according to Tuttosport.
Gabigol is on loan there until 31 December and has scored 10 goals so far this season between the Copa Libertadores and the Brazilian Serie A, providing six assists too.
Inter extended the 22-year-old’s contract to 2022 before sending him back, with the aim of lowering his amortisation fee, and will ask for €15 million in order to avoid making a net loss.
Flamengo president Wallim Vasconcellos yesterday told Globoesporte the club were more than willing to cough up some money for a player the Nerazzurri have no interest of using again.
“If Gabigol wants to stay here with us then we have the funds to buy him,” he said.
Inter could also recall the striker from his loan deal if they were to receive a favourable offer from another club.
Gabigol joined from Santos in the summer of 2016 for an eye-watering fee of €33 million.
