Inter will only receive €12.6 million from the sale of Standard Liege-bound Zinho Vanheusden despite valuing the player at €18 million, according to reports in Belgium.

The Nerazzurri today finalised a deal for the 19-year-old to rejoin Standard after he had spent the last 18 months on loan there.

However, dhnet.be reported Vanheusden will not produce a profit as large as Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio may have hoped.

“Standard were due a 30% cut of any transfer fee for Vanheusden after selling him to Inter in 2015,” they explained.

“That sum needs to be subtracted from the initial €18 million to reach a final fee of €12.6 million, which still makes him the most expensive player signed by a Belgian club ever.”

Vanheusden’s deal breaks the record set by Romanian international Nicolae Stanciu, who joined Anderlecht for €9.6 million in 2016.

Xian Emmers will no longer be part of the deal, having initially been expected to join Standard on a season-long loan.
