Antonio Conte is urging Inter to complete a deal for Romelu Lukaku as quickly as possible so his preseason plans are not disrupted, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter are behind schedule with their transfer dealings after failing to sort out a series of key issues before training begins next week.

Mauro Icardi is still at the club with five days left while Lukaku, Edin Dzeko and Nicolo Barella have not yet been signed despite Inter’s best attempts.

The Belgian will become the Nerazzurri’s priority in the next few days with Beppe Marotta due to approach Manchester United again.

United initially wanted €85 million to sell Lukaku but it is thought they could accept a fee in the region of €70-75 million.

Inter will attempt to spread the payment out across more than one financial season, perhaps offering a very expensive loan with an obligation to buy.

Lukaku is ‘more impatient than ever’ to join his new club but United would need to accept that formula in order to seal a deal quickly.

Lautaro Martinez’s extended holiday after the Copa America, Keita Balde’s return to Monaco and Ivan Perisic’s move to left wing-back means Conte will only have Matteo Politano and a selection of youngsters to work with up front next week.

Icardi will also be present but he does not form part of Conte’s plans going forward.
