Juventus will wait until the end of August to move for Mauro Icardi and hope to sign the Inter forward for €40 million, according to Corriere della Sera.

Icardi’s release clause allows non-Italian clubs to sign him for €110 million before 15 July, but nobody has come forward with an offer.

The former captain will start preseason training as normal because Inter do not want to risk any legal action from his entourage.

“Mauro wants to prove his professionalism and commitment to Antonio Conte,” the paper reported today.

“His future will not be resolved anytime soon, despite Conte’s intention to exclude him from tactical drills and preseason friendlies.”

Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici is ‘flirting’ with Icardi’s wife and agent Wanda Nara and intends to make his move at the last minute.

Napoli have offered Inter a swap deal with Lorenzo Insigne but Icardi has no intention of moving to the Azzurri.

The 26-year-old’s future will in all likelihood be sorted in the final two weeks of August.
