Antonio Conte today confirmed Mauro Icardi and Radja Nainggolan’s Inter careers are over.

Both players have been put up for sale while Maurito has not even travelled with the Nerazzurri for their preseason tour in Asia.

Supporters have called for Nainggolan to be given a second chance but Conte appeared unmovable when discussing the issue earlier.

“Icardi is not part of our plans,” Conte told reporters at his pre-match press conference for Inter’s International Champions Cup clash with Manchester United.

“That’s the reality at the moment and the club have been clear about this.

“Nainggolan is out as well. He’s here with us on tour but nothing has changed.”

Conte was also asked about Inter’s bid to sign Romelu Lukaku from tomorrow’s opponents in Singapore, following reports he was frustrated at the lack of progress in talks.

“I already know Lukaku well from when I was managing Chelsea and you know I like him,” Conte confirmed.

“I consider him a signing that would improve us, but as of today he is a Manchester United player. We’ll see what happens.

“I can’t deny we’re behind schedule with regard to the plans we’d made, so we need to get a move on. I have the same vision as the club and I’m confident, although I expected us to be further ahead at this point.”

Conte then kept his cards close to his chest when discussing Ivan Perisic’s new wing-back position.

“Ivan is a player with specific characteristics and I want to figure out whether he can play in the position I have in mind,” he added.

“We have time to evaluate the situation and understand if he can do what I want from him.”
