Mauro Icardi remains convinced he can save his Inter career if he stays at the club this summer, according to FcInter1908.

Beppe Marotta and Antonio Conte have both publicly confirmed the Argentine is not part of their plans for the coming season, but they are struggling to arrange a sale.

Icardi is adamant he has done nothing to deserve such blunt treatment and thinks he can convince everyone to reintegrate him into the first-team squad this year.

Staying at Inter is therefore still the forward’s priority, which is helped by the fact Icardi has two more years left on his current deal.

Inter are not showing any sign of changing their mind on the club’s former captain, but they are not prepared to sell Icardi on the cheap just to get him out.

Icardi’s entourage, meanwhile, are ‘vigil’ as they evaluate every possible option left to them during the final few weeks of the summer.

Those close to Maurito have not declined an approach from any other club, with both Juventus and Napoli reported to be interested.

But it will ultimately be up to Icardi to consider all offers that come in from him, suggesting this story still has a long way to run yet.

Icardi was excluded from Inter’s preseason tour in Asia and will train alone at Appiano Gentile until they return on Sunday.

The 26-year-old is trying his hardest to regain a competitive level of fitness, in order to facilitate any eventual reintegration into the first-team squad.
