Inter’s former forward Ivan Zamorano is confident the Nerazzurri can compete for the Scudetto under Antonio Conte this season.
The Chilean won the 1998 UEFA Cup in Milan, scoring 41 goals in 148 appearances across all competitions.
Inter will ramp up their preparations for the new Serie A campaign when they return from their preseason tour of Asia on Sunday.
“They’re putting a good team together,” Zamorano told Pianetalecce.it yesterday.
“I liked the decision to appoint Conte because he can give Inter something extra in terms of character and tactical discipline.
“His teams always play good football and they’ll give opponents a run for their money.”
Conte’s side drew with Juventus in China on Wednesday after losing to Manchester United in their International Champions Cup opener.
Their final match before flying home to Europe will take place this afternoon, when they face Paris Saint-Germain in Macao.
The Nerazzurri will learn who their first opponent is in the league this season when Serie A’s fixture ceremony takes place on Monday evening.
