Joao Mario could be set for a return to the Premier League after Brighton and Wolverhampton Wanderers made an approach for the midfielder, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Inter are desperately looking for a club to whom they can offload the Portuguese international, having decided he is no longer part of their plans under Antonio Conte.

Mario already spent six months in England at the start of 2018, when he joined West Ham on loan for half a season.

The 26-year-old also has interest from Monaco, who have been linked to several of Inter’s squad players lately.

Radja Nainggolan is another player Inter want to move on, but the midfielder has complicated matters by prioritising a return to Cagliari.

The Ninja has no interest in moving to China before their transfer window closes on Wednesday, while moving back to Roma is not a realistic option.

Inter seem all but resigned to the fact they will not find a club who wants Nainggolan permanently, so they are willing to contemplate a loan deal.

A loan swap with Barcelona for Arturo Vidal was considered in recent weeks, but this does not seem to have led to anything.

Borja Valero is also on the way out in midfield, with Fiorentina and Genoa both monitoring the 34-year-old Spaniard.

Inter have at least completed one departure, after Joao Miranda joined their sister club Jiangsu Suning yesterday.

The Brazilian resolved the contract that tied him to the Nerazzurri and will save Inter from paying his annual salary of just over €3 million net.

Suning could not have registered a ‘capital gain’ from this deal in any case, because UEFA rules forbid such actions between clubs with the same owners.
