Antonio Conte dedicated much of Inter’s training time to tactical drills yesterday as they prepare to play Valencia on Saturday.
The Nerazzurri will play their final preseason fixture at the Mestalla Stadium before Conte’s side begin the new Serie A campaign against Lecce.
Inter’s training session took place during late afternoon on Thursday so the players could work in more comfortable temperatures.
Inter TV assured Conte was doing all he could to ensure his side faced the La Liga club with ‘the right mentality’.
Training began with Conte splitting his first-team squad into two groups, sending one to warm up with the ball and the other to work on game situations.
The groups then swapped over before everyone was reunited for a practice match on a reduced-size pitch.
Conte finished the day with another series of tactical exercises, hoping to perfect his 3-5-2 system further during this weekend’s Trofeo Naranja match.
Romelu Lukaku became the club’s fifth first-team signing of the summer yesterday after completing a potential €75 million move from Manchester United.
