Inter could be one of a few clubs set to request changes to how VAR is used in continental club competitions such as the Champions League according to a report from La Repubblica.
Inter found themselves left fizzing after Damir Skomina’s failure to even consult VAR after it appeared that Arthur had fouled Stefano Sensi in the penalty box during Wednesday’s match away to Barcelona. Whilst him consulting VAR may not have guaranteed a penalty, what it would have certainly done was remove doubts.
The Nerazzurri could ask the European Club Association for the criteria of when VAR can be used to change to closer reflect the model in place in Serie A where the technology is used more than in the Champions League and Europa League.
The report claims that clubs could well request that each club gets one chance to call for a VAR review of a situation per match.
