Inter and AC Milan are expected to soon meet with the Superintendancy of Cultural Heritage to find out the possible safeguards that could be placed on San Siro according to a report in today’s paper edition of Corriere della Sera.

The two clubs have made it clear that they wish to build a new state-of-the-art stadium to replace the near 100-year-old San Siro and it appeared as if San Siro was to be bulldozed although some recent studies have shown that whilst extremely complicated, it is possible that San Siro could be renovated.

Historical constraints could be placed on parts of San Siro which would ultimately scupper the clubs plans to completely demolish the ground. The clubs wish to understand exactly what the Superintendancy of Cultural Heritage plan to do.

The report goes on to state that San Siro could be renovated and then re-purposed, perhaps for other sporting events among other possibilities.
