Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta is to be recognised at the Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs (FICTS) award ceremony tonight with the La Guirlande d’Honneur award, according to a report in today’s paper edition of Turin news outlet Tuttosport.
The FICTS ceremony is widely regarded to be like the Oscars for television and sport cinema, reserved for personalities of sports, cinema and television and recognises people who have distinguished themselves in a significant way by promoting ethical and cultural values.
Marotta will be one of many award winners at this evening’s event, which is due to begin at 18:00 local time in Milan, with Tuttosport director Xavier Jacobelli also set to receive an award.
62-year-old Marotta joined Inter around a year ago having departed from a similar role at Inter’s arch-rivals Juventus and has already made a big impact in his short tenure at the club – specifically helping the Nerazzurri out on the transfer market.
