Inter are finally exiting their injury crisis that forced coach Antonio Conte to field the same set of players constantly, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how the squad are slowly exiting the crisis, starting with Matias Vecino. The 28-year-old Uruguayan played 18 minutes yesterday, his first appearance since he suffered a muscle injury last month. Star midfielder Stefano Sensi was also called up for yesterday’s game, although he ended up not featuring.
Furthermore, Danilo D’Ambrosio seems to finally be recovering from the injury he sustained with the Italian national team in their victory against Greece in the last international break, the report adds. Whilst Kwadwo Asamoah has suffered a light knee injury, he should be fit in time for the Nerazzurri’s Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund next week.
The report suggests that Conte will line-up Sensi, Roberto Gagliardini and Vecino as the midfield three in the game on Tuesday, assuming that the former Sassuolo midfielder gets the all clear from the medical staff tonight. Finally, there is also a chance that D’Ambrosio could make his return against the Bundesliga side as well.
