A report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport has analysed 22-year-old Italian midfielder Nicolo Barella’s quick adaption to Inter and his growth since the transfer from Cagliari this summer.
The report begins detailing the slow start suffered by Barella at Inter. He arrived late to the club’s training camp thanks to his commitments with the Italy Under-21 squad in the summer, and the almost €50 million investment made in him may have put him under pressure to perform.
However, after two substitute appearances in Inter’s first two games of the season against Lecce and Cagliari, his performances began to pick up steam.
The report highlights the Champions League clash against Slavia Prague in September as the turning point for Barella. The 22-year-old scored a late equaliser for Inter that could prove invaluable as they look for qualification to the next round of the competition.
Since that goal, Barella became a regular starter and never stopped trying his hardest to impress both the coach and the club’s fans.
