Inter’s top transfer targets in the upcoming January transfer window are unhappy Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud and Udinese star midfielder Rodrigo De Paul, according to a report from Italian broadcaster SportMediaset.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are keen to strengthen both the midfield and forward departments, due to a problematic lack of squad depth in these areas. Coach Antonio Conte has notified both CEO Beppe Marotta and Sporting Director Piero Ausilio of his wishes, and both the executives are working hard to bring Conte’s wishes to life.

Chelsea gave the green light for Inter to sign the 33-year-old Frenchman in January, the report suggests, allowing negotiations to begin between the player’s entourage and the Nerazzurri. Now both Ausilio and Marotta will work towards securing De Paul’s signature. The duo are considering offering Udinese a loan deal with a buy option attached, although the Friulian club are considering asking for a player in exchange.
