Inter defender Stefan de Vrij, who scored the Nerazzurri’s second goal in their 3-0 win in the Serie A over Torino last night, spoke to Italian broadcaster InterTV immediately after game.

“To score is something beautiful, but also to avoid conceding goals gives us defenders a lot of satisfaction. We enter the pitch prepared, we knew what to do to hurt the opponents.”

“We were good at scoring the first chance we had. We had faith and never got into trouble. But the pitch was wet, we saw it already in the warm-up. Building up on the ground was risky, so we passed on the ground much less than normally. We were good at reading the game right.”

The Nerazzurri’s win sees them remain second in the league table after 13 games, still one point behind league leaders and rivals Juventus, who came from behind to beat Atalanta 3-1 earlier in the day.

Inter’s next game is against Slavia Prague in the Champions League on Wednesday.
