Inter could go back in for January transfer window target Olivier Giroud in the upcoming Summer transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

The experienced French striker reportedly came very close to joining Inter a few months back but Inter pulled the plug on the deal and ultimately decided not to bring in another striker right at the end of the window.

As per various reports, there was a deal in place with Chelsea and Inter had agreed personal terms with the former Arsenal man.

It was understood that the move hinged on Matteo Politano leaving but once Politano left for Napoli, Inter did not proceed to complete the signing of Giroud.

Inter could be one of three clubs who go in for him in the Summer, the Rome based newspaper state. Lazio and Tottenham Hotspur, who both also showed an interest in January, could make moves as well.

The report goes on to state that Giroud, who will be a free agent, is seeking a three year contract with an annual salary of €3.5 million.
