Inter defender Diego Godin is weighing up his future with the club according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.
The veteran Uruguayan national team centre back joined the club on a free transfer this past Summer upon the expiry of his contract with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid and hopes were high upon his arrival but as the season has progressed, Godin has seen his status in the team decrease.
Initially a certain starter, he now finds himself in and out of the team due to the emergence of young defender Alessandro Bastoni, who has proven to be more comfortable in Inter manager Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 than he has.
Godin has been an invaluable member in the dressing room due to his experience but having lost his place in the team and with him being 34-years-old and wanting to play as much as possible in the twilight years of his career, he is currently thinking about his future with the club.
