UEFA have agreed to relax Financial Fair Play rules by extending the deadline clubs have to prove that they have no overdue payables until the end of April according to a report from The Athletic.

European football’s governing body have taken this action in a bid to help clubs out during the current crisis situation which has come about as a result of the global Coronavirus pandemic.

Leagues across the continent have been put on hold as governments try their utmost to contain the virus and stop it spreading any further but the decision to postpone leagues has had a huge financial impact on clubs who are still having to pay their players wages despite regular income such as gate receipts not coming in for the foreseeable future.

Clubs were originally supposed to have proven they have no overdue payables, such as unpaid tax bills, transfer instalments or wages, by the end of this month but have been given an extra 30 days to get things in order.
