Inter are working on trying to keep Alexis Sanchez until the end of the season according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was aired a short time ago.
The Chilean national team player joined Inter on a season long loan from Manchester United this past Summer and the loan was extended until August 6, to allow him to play in the remainder of the Serie A season, which was extended due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Inter have the Europa League to compete in in August and as things stand they will be unable to have Sanchez available to them.
Inter are looking for a formula that can satisfy all parties. Sanchez currently earns €12 million a year and Manchester United are covering over half of his wages at the moment. The report concludes that a particular formula will need to be found in order to keep a hold of him.
Sanchez spent most of the early part of his loan with the club on the sidelines due to an ankle injury but has certainly proven his worth and tried to make up for lost time with his performances since the season got back underway with him being one of, if not Inter’s best performer.
