Inter perform better with Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez on the pitch and the Nerazzurri are looking to keep the player in Milan for another season, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The report details how the 31-year-old Chilean forward has impressed since the restart of the season, working well with Argentine forward Lautaro Martinez and giving coach Antonio Conte a new offensive option.
The former Arsenal star opens up space, creates goal scoring opportunities, closes down opponents and has a quick burst of pace, giving Conte a strong alternative to Romelu Lukaku. He may even start ahead of the Belgian against Roma tomorrow.
Sanchez’s future is currently unclear, the report continues, as even an agreement with Manchester United regarding an extension for August hasn’t been reached yet.
The Nerazzurri would like to keep the Chilean for next season as well on loan, but the Red Devils are pushing for a definitive sale, although in that case Sanchez would need to drop his wages by around €13 million net plus add-ons.
