Inter central defender Milan Skriniar has insisted that he and teammates wish to do as well as possible and go as far as they can in what remains of the 2019/20 season.
“We came to Rome to take all three points. We did not succeed, but there is not much time to talk and recover, because in three days there is another game,” he began an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia following last night’s 2-2 draw away to Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Slovakian national team player then went on to speak about the team clinching Champions League qualification with four games to spare of the Serie A season.
“We are in the Champions League with four games left, which is not what has happened in previous years, but it is a shame because in my opinion we have a very strong team and we were aiming for something else.”
In conclusion he discussed the team’s ambitions from here to the end of the season.
“Four league games left, then there will be the Europa League. We want to do well and go as far as possible.”
The 25-year-old joined Inter in the Summer of 2017 as part of a player plus cash deal from fellow Serie A side Sampdoria and is under contract with Inter until the end of the 2022/23 season.
This season Skriniar has made 39 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the park, he has provided teammates with two assists.
