Inter manager Antonio Conte’s criticism regarding the schedule Inter have had was justified as far as playing against teams with more rest than him is concerned according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Five of Inter’s eight opponents since the season resumed had at least one more day of rest than the Nerazzurri. Juventus have never come up against an opponent with more rest than them and on two occasions they have had more rest than their opponents.

Lazio have only played against a side with more rest than them once whilst they have had more rest than their opponents three times.

Inter have had to play eight games in 25 days, Lazio have played the same amount in 26 days whilst Juventus have played eight games across 28 days.

The report goes on to explain that there has been contact between Lega Serie A officials and Inter management regarding the schedule.

Lega Serie A have explained to Inter that the reason for their schedule being like it has been is due to having to find a space to fit in the Sampdoria match plus have space in the event Inter reached the Coppa Italia final.
