Lautaro Martinez is closer to staying at Inter than leaving at the moment but despite this Barcelona will not give up according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

Prior to last night’s frustrating goalless draw against Fiorentina, Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta revealed that talks over a potential new contract for the 22-year-old at the club will not take place until the end of the season.

Barcelona have been interested in signing the Argentine national team striker for a considerable amount of time and  although currently far away from him, the report from the Turin based news outlet goes on to explain that once the Champions League is over they could come back in for him.

This season Lautaro has made 42 appearances across all competitions to date. In just over 3100 minutes on the park, the former Racing Club player has scored 18 goals and provided six assists.
