Signing Inter striker Lautaro Martinez remains a priority for Barcelona in the upcoming transfer window according to a report from the online edition of Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.

The Blaugrana club already have an agreement over a five year contract with the player but Inter’s demands, the Coronavirus pandemic and Barcelona’s significant revenue losses have slowed things down.

The report goes on to explain that two things are required for Barcelona to be able to sign the highly rated Argentine national team player.

First of all, Barcelona can only do a deal by inserting a counterpart or counterparts in order to bring down the cash element.

Secondly, one of Barcelona’s current attackers will have to depart the club. Barcelona already have Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Antoine Griezmann, Ansu Fati, Ousmane Dembele and Martin Braithwaite at the club and also have youngster Francisco Trincao coming to the club too.

The report goes on to explain that Barcelona are also actively trying to sell the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Jean-Clair Todibo, Rafinha, Ivan Rakitic and Moussa Wague in order to raise some funds.
