Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta is optimistic about being able to keep a hold of on loan Alexis Sanchez according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Marotta is optimisic about striking a deal with Manchester United and signing Sanchez on a permanent basis. An agreement between the two clubs seemed close a few days ago and it cannot be excluded that things could be wrapped up on or before Thursday.
Manchester United have dropped their initial demands of €20 million down to €15 million and the report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to explain that Inter already have an agreement in place with the player over personal terms.
Inter and the Chilean national team player have agreed to a three year contract, which his current high salary will be spread across.
Whilst on loan at the club the 31-year-old has made 29 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored four goals and provided 10 assists.
