Inter striker Lautaro Martinez’s future is still unclear, as Barcelona are still interested in signing him but can’t match the Nerazzurri’s demands, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The report details how the 22-year-old Argentine striker is hoping to win the Europa League with the Milanese club this season, as it would allow him to celebrate on the night of the 21st to the 22nd August, his 23rd birthday.
The player is still wanted by the Blaugrana, although the club failed to pay his €111 million release clause last month.
Negotiations between the two clubs are currently on standby, the report continues, as Inter refuse to continue talks until the conclusion of their Europa League campaign.
Coach Antonio Conte would prefer to keep Lautaro and believes in his partnership with Romelu Lukaku, so he could receive a new contract once the season ends.
