Inter manager Antonio Conte will head into the meeting with Inter president Steven Zhang with several things on his side regardless of the outcome of the Europa League final according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera.
Conte and Zhang are set to meet face to face following the Europa League to discuss Conte’s future with the club which was thrown right up in the air after his public outburst after Inter’s win over Atalanta on the final day of the Serie A season.
The former Italian national team boss led Inter to a second placed finish in the league and finished just one point behind champions Juventus and has improved several players exponentially including the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Alessandro Bastoni and Nicolo Barella.
Conte’s demands for Romelu Lukaku to be signed last Summer also paid off massively with the Belgian having scored 33 goals this season.
Should Conte lead the Nerazzurri club to Europa League glory on Friday, Inter’s excellent season will turn into an exceptional one.
As for Steven Zhang, the Chinese businessman recognises the successes that Conte has achieved this term and his ability to increase the level of the team and increase the odds of winning silverware.
Conte is not afraid about the future due to tough choices having been made in the past and he hopes to work in an environment where he has the full suppot of the leadership. He also has the trust of the entire team and the results are testament of this.
